Coconut Wireless is the island phrase used to describe how word travels fast! Have you ever told someone something and find out days later its got back to your aunty's husbands 2nd cousins nephew's daughter? Kind of like that phrase 'I heard it through the grape vine?' well this is 'I heard it through the coconut wireless line' - I took inspiration for this piece from a memory I had as child using 2 cups and a piece of string as a walkie talkie - if your a millennial you'll know. This is my playful take on this phrase and for some added affect i've included the year that PNG received it's independence.
